Florida Gaming Summit on October 16-17 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino

The Hollywood complex will host an evening reception for the Florida Gaming Summit. Organizers of the event expect to see hundreds of gaming industry, Indian country, politics, tourism and law personnel to join the event on October 16-17, 2006 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood.

After the reception, a daylong program will follow, to include a panel of executives from each of the four Broward County racetrackers, they will start the slot-machine operations.

At the Florida Gaming Summit, there will also be an Indian gaming update, regional gaming overview and looks at how gaming have an impact on tourism and politics.

Executives at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa are closely watching the meetings with interest. A change in gaming laws are expected to be done in Broward County, it will have an expected effect on the Tampa casino as well.

The Seminole Tribe is allowed by the federal law to offer the same types of casino gaming that is only allowed in the state.

Various speakers are invited such as state Sen. Steven Geller, D-Hallandale Beach; state Rep. Ron Greenstein, D-Coconut Creek; Seminole Gaming Chief Executive Officer Jim Allen; Isle of Capri Casinos Chairman and CEO Bernard Goldstein; gaming attorney Alan Koslow; and Baha Mar President Don Robinson.

Vice President of Spectrum Gaming Group, the conference's co-producer, Joseph Weinert said, "With state-regulated gaming about to commence in Broward County, the Florida Gaming Summit provides a timely forum to address the critical issues facing an industry that could become an economic powerhouse."
